"INSTANT BREAKFAST" IN SPACE — What are you eating for breakfast today? Here’s one culinary option for the astronauts of Apollo 16 in April 1972. It’s “instant breakfast”!! Packaged and protected in a 4-ply, laminated film coating, this dehydrated delight was easily “reconstituted” by the astronaut with a water probe attached to the packet. A half ounce of hot or cold water was dispensed each time a trigger button was pressed. Since instant breakfast required 4 ounces of water, that means 8 shots of water injected into the packet
